GWEC welcomes abstract submissions for Knowledge Theatre presentations. Selected papers will:

• Be presented at APAC Wind Energy Summit 2025
• Contribute to industry best practices and standards and help shape future technical roadmaps for the wind energy sector
• Be included in GWEC’s membership area/market intelligence area

Background
The global wind energy sector stands at a determining moment of deployment and innovation. As the world accelerates its transition to renewable energy, wind power technology continues to evolve, presenting both opportunities and challenges for the industry worldwide.
Objective
This call for papers seeks to gather cutting-edge insights, research, and practical experiences from senior industry leaders and technical experts to advance deployment of wind energy technology globally. The selected papers will contribute to shaping the industry's technical roadmap and strategic direction.
Focus Areas
We invite submissions addressing, but not limited to, the following key areas:

1. Emerging Markets 
• Vietnam onshore development - road to 21.8GW
• Spotlight on Philippines offshore development 
• Japan’s pivotal role in driving APAC growth
2. Ports and Infrastructure
• Building the port and infrastructure for offshore wind
• Grid development and challenges
• Vessels fit-for-purpose

3. Offshore Wind Innovation 
• Floating wind technology advancement
• Installation 
• Deep-water solutions and challenges

4. Supply chain resilience and diversification
• Financing a sustainable supply chain
• Advancing Supply chain infrastructure and development
• Performance optimization techniques
Submission Guidelines
• Papers should present original research, case studies, or technical innovations
• Papers should focus on practical applications and industry-relevant solutions
• Papers must describe work that has been done at the moment of submission, Papers must not describe work that will be done in the future
• Authors should be industry professionals or technical or academic experts
• Paper abstracts should comprise no more than 500 words (excluding title, keywords and references)
• Papers should not be sales pitches. GWEC reserves the right to reject papers containing overly promotional or commercial content
• Papers should be submitted in English 
Selection Criteria and Committee
Members of GWEC will review and evaluate based on:
• Innovation and technical advancement
• Practical applicability
• Industry impact potential
• Quality of analysis and presentation
• Strategic relevance to global wind energy deployment
• Sustainability and environmental considerations
• Nomination of an upcoming industry expert. GWEC prioritises diversity in the speaker lineup. 
• Market readiness and commercialisation potential

Selection committee
• Members of GWEC’s Policy team and programme committee will review, evaluate and select papers 
• Papers are not reviewed anonymously
Important Dates
Abstracts will be reviewed on an on-going basis from April to July with accepted presenters notified in June and July. We encourage you to submit your abstract as early as possible if you wish to be included in the program.

• Final abstract Submission Deadline: 30 July 2025
• Abstract Review: April - July 2025
• Notification of Selection: June - July 2025 
• Briefing call: July - August 2025
• Meet up before Session and Final Brief: August - September 2025
• Presentation: 16 - 18 September 2025
